—  OVERVIEW

Babcock Design worked with the City of Holladay, a team of traffic and civil engineers, landscape architects and UDOT  to enhance the walkability and community’s sense of place.

The realignment of a complicated intersection of 2300 East, Murray-Holladay Road, and Holladay Blvd. situated in the heart of downtown Holladay provided an opportunity for transformation. We buried power lines and created design standards for an entirely new streetscape. Landscape elements and street furniture were designed to enhance the pedestrian and shopping experience. A large public plaza was created at the intersection, which has become a vibrant gathering space for community events. The project has resulted in a significant increase in housing and retail around the plaza, becoming a walkable, vibrant center of life for this community.
