—  OVERVIEW

GreenWood Charter School, a 42,300 SF free public charter school, goes beyond traditional subjects to help students become active, knowledgeable, creative, and conscientious individuals. Students are taught their role and responsibility in the world, a concept reinforced through the school’s architecture. The main entrance and corridor are aligned with the prominent Ben Lomond Peak, offering spectacular views and connecting the building to the broader community. Flexible spaces were designed to support group activities at various levels, from single classes to the whole school, without constant rearrangement. SEED principles (Social, Economic, Environmental Design), which advocate for healthy communities, guided the design by engaging the community throughout the process.
