Nelson Laboratories is a leading provider of full, life-cycle microbiology testing services. Their laboratory tests medical devices, pharmaceuticals, processed tissue, and natural products. Nelson Laboratories is one of the fastest growing companies in Utah and a Best of State award winner in Science and Technology.

Nelson Labs is a three phase, two building, campus-oriented facility. Babcock Design worked with JWL to master plan a campus design that met both the functional needs of the facility and supported the CEO’s commitment to his employee’s quality of life.

Phase 3 consists of a 3-story 50,000 square foot laboratory and office building both symbolically and literally bridge together with the existing 48,000 square foot laboratory. Together the buildings form an outdoor plaza with an amphitheater that promotes outdoor activity, unity, and company pride.

Level 1 consists of a 3,500 square foot employee cafeteria and indoor/outdoor dining area, daycare, mother’s lounge, human resources, accounting, document Imaging, and reception. Level 2 is entirely dedicated to laboratories and it’s supporting facilities. Level 3 consists of open office space, training rooms, owner offices and two large board rooms complete with A/V.
