—  OVERVIEW

City Center Plaza in Boise is the definition of unique and complex. 371,000 sf of dense mixed-use, including a transit hub, retail and restaurants, offices and classrooms for Boise State University, emerging software technology offices, and convention center space — all overlooking the most prominent public area in downtown Boise. Every project has multiple end users — often intent on pulling in different directions. As the leader of the design team, our role was to analyze the specific space criteria for each of the various entities and then synthesize the information to produce a cohesive and organized design.

Beneath the nine-story Clearwater Building is an underground multi-modal transportation center. It is a central hub for local transit services, including buses, bicyclists and pedestrians. It has eight bus bays, a customer service office, restrooms, bike storage and repair areas and a Boise Police Department substation. This project catalyzes the Boise downtown economic development, bringing together multiple public and private entities.
