After almost a decade in their current building, Franklin Discovery Academy identified the need for additional space to support their growing performing arts curriculum and provide enhanced facilities for Pre-K students. This led to the creation of the new 15,000 SF Franklin Performing Arts Center, located on an adjacent site.
The facility incorporates key spaces to meet the school's evolving needs, including additional classrooms, a dedicated dance studio, and a music room. At its core is a 450-seat theater, offering a modern venue for school performances, assemblies, and community events. The exterior design of the new building complements the existing campus, creating cohesive visual connectivity while facilitating seamless movement between structures via shared exterior spaces. The original building’s vibrant color palette is contrasted with the new structure's more neutral tones, providing a calm setting ideal for learning and performing arts.
Additionally, the Pre-K program will be relocated to the new center. This move ensures an enriched environment tailored to early childhood education, equipping young learners with the tools they need to transition to kindergarten successfully.
