— OVERVIEW
Salt Lake County is relocating its government offices from the aging, 40-year-old Government Center at 2001 South State Street to the former Overstock.com Peace Coliseum campus. Driven by the County’s 2023 SOAR Project, which identified significant inefficiencies in space, maintenance, and service delivery, the County acquired the New Campus as a modern, amenity-rich alternative featuring collaborative workspaces, abundant natural light, a fitness center, and large work cafe. Babcock Design led a comprehensive programming effort engaging all 30 agencies and divisions of county government, aligning operational needs with the new facility. The building will house all of the elected officials, their associates, the County Council and a Service Desk where the public can come to resolve all of their needs in person. With programming complete, Babcock Design is now entering the design phase.
