Mountain Sunrise Academy

PROJECT NAME
Mountain Sunrise Academy
LOCATION
Saratoga Springs, UT
SQUARE FOOTAGE

  OVERVIEW

A FACILITY BUILT FOR
PROFESSIONAL PLAY AND
COMMUNITY USE.

Mountain Sunrise Academy was designed from the inside of a philosophy outward. The 36,000-square-foot K-8 charter school in Saratoga Springs follows the Waldorf education model — a holistic approach that integrates intellectual, artistic, and practical learning — and the architecture makes that visible at every turn. Colors, textures, and materials were chosen for warmth and harmony rather than efficiency. Natural light is oriented to frame the surrounding mountains and the rising sun, grounding students in the rhythms of the natural world. Outdoor gardens and gathering areas extend hands-on learning beyond the classroom walls. The interiors were designed to feel like home rather than an institution — comfortable, creative, and free of the rigidity that Waldorf education exists to move past. It's a school where the building and the curriculum are in complete agreement.
