A FACILITY BUILT FOR
PROFESSIONAL PLAY AND
COMMUNITY USE.
The Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Discovery was designed for a school that takes its name seriously. The K-8 charter school in Providence, Utah builds its curriculum around hands-on exploration — and the building does the same. A MakerSpace Lab gives students direct experience in science, technology, engineering, programming, and robotics. Interconnected classrooms flex between large group and small session formats without friction. Every classroom opens directly to the outdoors, making nature an extension of the learning environment rather than a break from it. At the center of the building, a gathering space anchored by an indoor tree makes the connection between the built and natural worlds literal and deliberate. The exterior — stucco, masonry, siding, overhangs, and sloping roofs — signals the school's forward-thinking philosophy before you step inside. It's a building that teaches by example.
