City Center Plaza Master Plan

PROJECT NAME
City Center Plaza Master Plan
LOCATION
Boise, ID
SQUARE FOOTAGE
  OVERVIEW

371,000 SQUARE FEET OF COMPLEXITY MADE TO LOOK EFFORTLESS.

City Center Plaza is what happens when every square foot has to work for someone different. The 371,000-square-foot mixed-use development in downtown Boise stacks a transit hub, retail and restaurants, Boise State University classrooms, emerging technology offices, and convention center space into a single cohesive structure overlooking the city's most prominent public plaza. Every user group came with distinct space criteria — and often competing priorities. Babcock's role as design team leader was to hold all of it together: analyzing each entity's specific needs, synthesizing the conflicts, and producing a building that feels unified rather than negotiated. That it reads as coherent from the street is the point.
