  OVERVIEW

WHERE HIGH-PERFORMANCE LOGISTICS MEETS PURPOSEFUL WORKPLACE DESIGN.

Utah's Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services needed more than additional square footage — they needed a facility smart enough to handle every bottle of alcohol distributed in the state. This 200,000-square-foot addition integrates seamlessly with an existing Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), layering in Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and three-story modules purpose-built for both case-pick and individual bottle-pick operations. The result is a facility capable of managing over 200 pallets daily with exceptional precision.

What makes the project distinctive is how it balances that operational intensity with thoughtfully designed human space. Alongside the logistics infrastructure, the addition accommodates the 100-person Commission Chamber for the Alcoholic Beverage Commission — a space for governance and collaboration embedded within one of the state's most technically demanding facilities. It's a reminder that even the most automated building still has to work for the people inside it.
