Alta Point Apartments

Located within the 600-acre mixed-use redevelopment of the former Utah State Prison site in Draper, Utah, Alta Point Apartments is a two-phase affordable housing project delivering 400 homes for young professionals, families, and a diverse range of residents. The four-acre site sits directly along the Neighborhood Trail, linking the community to the River-to-Range regional trail system as well as the Promenade and Central Green at the heart of the masterplan. To accommodate higher density while maintaining quality open space, the building is organized as five levels of Type III wood-framed construction over two levels of Type I podium that house parking, resident amenities, and street- and trail-facing stoop units. Mid-block, the massing is intentionally split to form two distinct phases and a central “canyon” that cuts through the site, visually connecting the street to an interior courtyard that features a markedly different architectural expression from the public-facing elevations.
