Utah Military Academy, Valdez-Peterson Campus

PROJECT NAME
Utah Military Academy, Valdez-Peterson Campus
LOCATION
Lehi, UT
SQUARE FOOTAGE
54,000 sf
  OVERVIEW

A FACILITY BUILT FOR
PROFESSIONAL PLAY AND
COMMUNITY USE.

The Utah Military Academy's second campus in Lehi required a building that could carry the weight of the institution's mission — academic excellence, military culture, and preparation for some of the most competitive programs in the country. The 54,000-square-foot two-story facility draws on the architectural language of established military academies across the country: simple forms, disciplined geometry, and a subdued palette that respects the surrounding residential neighborhood while projecting quiet authority. Conventional classrooms sit alongside open cadet gathering areas that encourage the social and cultural development central to military education. A complete athletics program is supported by a large playing field, gymnasium, and dedicated drill space. Located near Camp Williams Army Base, the campus benefits from the direct involvement of active-duty military personnel — a resource built into the curriculum and reflected in the character of the building that houses it.
