Landscape Architect / Planner

Babcock Design is seeking a Senior Level Landscape Architect / Urban Planner to provide leadership for our site design team. This is an opportunity to shape and lead the land planning efforts of Babcock Design. Responsibilities include manage the design efforts of a variety of projects including large scale master planning of commercial and residential developments, including landscape and irrigation design. 


As the senior member of the site design team, this individual will be involved in all phases of the project including business development, responding to request for proposals, maintain budgets and schedules, master planning, conceptual design through construction documents and construction observation.


DAY-TO-DAY

  • Work directly with Principals, Project Managers and Planners to coordinate and implement creative design opportunities for a variety of clients and project types. 
  • Collaborate with internal design team including project consultants in the Salt Lake and Boise Offices.
  • Schedule and direct the efforts of the site design team. Including creating and implementing schedules and budgets on each project. 
  • Oversee development and preparation of design presentations for clients, stakeholders, jurisdictional review boards etc. 
  • Ensure quality assurance of construction documentation and design intent. 
  • Assist with construction administration and on-site observations as required. 

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution within the field of Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or Planning
  • 5 to 8 years (post-graduation) of relevant working experience in a professional design firm, is ideal but not required
  • Licensed Landscape Architect with the ability to practice in Utah, Idaho and other states as needed. 
  • Understanding of site design principles and best practices that ensure an elevated design the meeting the client expectations.  
  • Strong visualization skills
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and team building skills.
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of the Landscape Architecture including planting, grading, storm water management and construction detailing.
  • Ability to oversee the completion of construction documentation. 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and SketchUp

Interior Designer

Babcock Design is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to be the lead in our Boise, Idaho Office. Responsibilities include manage the design efforts for a variety clients including commercial office tenant improvements, multifamily, K-12, and custom residential. 

This individual will be involved in all phases of the project including business development, responding to request for proposals, maintain budgets and schedules, space planning, conceptual design through construction documents and construction observation.


DAY-TO-DAY

  • Work directly with Principals, Director of interior design and Project Managers to coordinate and implement creative design opportunities for a variety of clients and project types. 
  • Collaborate with the Babcock interior design team including project consultants in the Salt Lake and Boise Offices.
  • Schedule and direct the efforts of the projects in the Boise office. Including creating and implementing schedules and budgets on each project. 
  • Oversee development and preparation of design presentations for clients, stakeholders, jurisdictional review boards etc. 
  • Ensure quality assurance of construction documentation and design intent. 
  • Assist with construction administration and on-site observations as required. 
  • Preparation of color and material boards
  • Selection of FF&E


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution within the field of Interior Design. 
  • 5 to 8 years (post-graduation) of relevant working experience in a professional design firm, is ideal but not required
  • NCDQ Certification preferred however if no, candidates should be working toward certification.  
  • Understanding of Interior design principles and best practices that ensure an elevated design the meeting the client expectations.  
  • Strong visualization skills
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and team building skills.
  • Proficiency in Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Project Architect

As Project Architect, this individual will lead the architectural team. Scheduling, staffing and directing the team will be primary roles, with effort towards designing, developing and coordinating a variety of project types. This full-time position requires an individual with experience and in-depth knowledge of project management, construction techniques, digital graphics experience. The PA will generate fee proposals, project work plan, direct day to day team operations and oversee project-related issues.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience working in an architectural firm
  • Ability to take a lead role in scheduling and task delegation
  • Experience using Revit in a professional office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – you will work directly with clients
  • Knowledge of the design process and development of construction documents

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Competency in BlueBeam, SketchUp, AutoCAD
  • Competency in Adobe Creative Suite products
